Terms of Service
Last Updated: May 27, 2026
1. Agreement to Terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the ScrutiBank desktop application, website at scrutibank.com, and any related services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account, installing the application, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.
2. The Service
ScrutiBank is a desktop application that parses bank statements (PDF, CSV) locally on your computer, applies forensic analysis, and helps you produce reports. The Service includes:
- The ScrutiBank desktop application (macOS and Windows).
- A free transaction quota tied to your installation.
- Optional paid transaction packs purchased through our website or the Microsoft Store.
- Account management, license recovery, and customer support.
3. Accounts and Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your credentials secure, and notify us promptly at help@scrutibank.com if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
You may sign up using your email address and password, or with a Google account. Email/password accounts are required to verify their email address before accessing certain paid features.
4. Pricing, Payments, and Refunds
Paid transaction packs are sold via Stripe (for purchases made on scrutibank.com) or through the Microsoft Store (for purchases initiated from within the Store). Prices, package sizes, and any promotional offers are displayed on our Pricing page at the time of purchase. All prices are inclusive of applicable VAT unless stated otherwise.
Transactions are digital goods delivered immediately upon successful payment. By completing a purchase you expressly request immediate delivery and acknowledge that, under EU consumer law (Directive 2011/83/EU, Art. 16(m)), your statutory 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply once delivery has begun, except where required by mandatory local law.
We will issue a refund at our discretion if a technical failure prevents delivery of purchased transactions. Refund requests for purchases made through scrutibank.com must be submitted to sales@scrutibank.com within 14 days of purchase.
For purchases made through the Microsoft Store, refund requests are handled by Microsoft according to Microsoft Store policies. To request a Microsoft Store refund, visit your Microsoft account order history at account.microsoft.com/billing/orders. The Stripe-based refund process described above applies only to purchases made directly through scrutibank.com.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service to process documents you do not have a lawful right to analyze.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the application, except where permitted by law.
- Resell, sublicense, or redistribute the Service or your account credentials.
- Use the Service to violate any law, regulation, or third-party right.
- Circumvent or attempt to defeat the free-quota, license, or billing controls.
6. License Grant and Trademarks
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, ScrutiBank grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the desktop application for your personal or internal business use. All intellectual-property rights in the Service remain with ScrutiBank or its licensors.
"ScrutiBank", the ScrutiBank logo, and related product names, logos, and marks are trademarks of Olly Digital. All rights reserved. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use these trademarks without our prior written permission, except as strictly necessary to identify the Service in connection with your permitted use.
7. Data and Privacy
The desktop application processes your bank statements locally on your computer. We do not receive or store the contents of your statements on our servers. Account information (email, name, purchase history, transaction balance) is stored in our cloud environment as described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". ScrutiBank is an analysis tool; it does not provide legal, accounting, auditing, tax, or financial advice. Output from the Service may contain errors and must be independently reviewed before being relied upon for any legal, regulatory, or evidentiary purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable rights you may have as a consumer under applicable law.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ScrutiBank's total aggregate liability arising out of or related to the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total amount you paid to ScrutiBank in the twelve (12) months preceding the event giving rise to the liability, or (b) one hundred euros (€100). We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ScrutiBank, Olly Digital, and their respective officers, directors, employees, and contractors from and against any claims, damages, obligations, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of: (i) your use of or access to the Service in violation of these Terms or applicable law; (ii) your violation of any third-party right, including any intellectual-property, privacy, or proprietary right; or (iii) any document or content you submit to or process with the Service that you did not have the lawful right to analyze.
11. Termination
You may terminate your account at any time by emailing help@scrutibank.com. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if required by law, or to protect the integrity of the Service. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends, but unused paid transactions may be honored at our discretion for a reasonable period.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email or in-application notice at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Microsoft Store and Third-Party Components
13.1 Microsoft Store distribution. Where the ScrutiBank application is acquired through the Microsoft Store, your use of the Service is also subject to the Microsoft Store Terms of Sale and the Microsoft Standard Application License Terms. Microsoft is an intended third-party beneficiary of this Section 13.1. In the event of a conflict between those Microsoft terms and these Terms with respect to matters specifically addressed by them (for example, Microsoft Store refund timing or installation rights), the Microsoft terms shall govern.
13.2 Open-source components. The ScrutiBank application includes open-source software components used under their respective licenses, including (without limitation): Tauri (MIT / Apache 2.0), llama.cpp and llama-cpp-python (MIT), FastAPI and uvicorn (BSD-3-Clause), React (MIT), pdfplumber (MIT), PyMuPDF (AGPL with commercial license), reportlab (BSD), openpyxl (MIT), and the Qwen 2.5 0.5B language model (Apache 2.0). Full attribution notices and license texts are available on request from contacts@scrutibank.com.
14. General Provisions
14.1 Force majeure. Neither party shall be liable for any failure or delay in performance caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including acts of God, natural disasters, war, terrorism, civil unrest, government action, labour disputes, internet or telecommunications failures, or pandemics.
14.2 Severability. If any provision of these Terms is held to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
14.3 Entire agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any pricing or order documentation issued at the time of purchase, constitute the entire agreement between you and ScrutiBank regarding the Service and supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications and proposals on the subject.
14.4 Assignment. You may not assign or transfer these Terms or any rights or obligations hereunder without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, acquisition, corporate reorganisation, or sale of substantially all of our assets.
14.5 No waiver. Our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms shall not constitute a waiver of that provision or of any other provision.
14.6 No third-party beneficiaries. Except as expressly set out in Section 13.1, these Terms confer no rights or remedies on any person or entity other than the parties hereto.
15. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, and the courts of Amsterdam shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from or related to these Terms — without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you may have in your country of residence.
16. Contact
Questions about these Terms can be sent to contacts@scrutibank.com. For account or billing issues, contact help@scrutibank.com or sales@scrutibank.com.
